Financial Reporting, Inc. has a class 3 commercial code signing certificate issued by Thawte, Inc.

Thawte, Inc. is a Microsoft approved trusted certificate authority.

Code signing certificates allow software developers to sign their macro projects for secure delivery over the internet. The digital ID provides the client assurance that the downloaded code is intact and has not been tampered with or altered in transit.

A master file is digitally signed and time stamped during the release process. This allows the model to be opened and run with no "enable macros" alert for the life of the product.

Note that the digital certificate only protects the macro project, not the data in worksheets.

When you open the pro forma for the first time, you should see the following screen:

Click the "Options" button on the security alert:

Click  the "Trust all documents from this publisher" button.

The file should no longer show an "enable macros" alert with future usage.

Note: Windows XP Users: There is a security issue with Excel 2007 running on the Windows XP operating system.
